Actress Katherine Heigl, who stars in the new ensemble film 'New Years Eve', fronts the January 2012 issue of Elle magazine, where she opens up about her goals, her family and why she is not able to fill the role of America's Sweetheart.
"I've never really been America's sweetheart, but for a minute I think that's what they wanted me to be. I had them for a second thinking maybe I was. And then I opened my mouth, and it was very clear I wasn't. There is [a lot] of my mother's caustic, sarcastic, irreverent take on things [life]. But I also love and embrace it."
